Ministry of Health South in Africa is warning consumers to avoid eating all processed meat products that are sold as ready-to-eat after tracing the source of deadly listeria outbreak to a sausage meat product.
Scientifically known as Listeria this bacteria can be found in soil and water and some animals, including poultry and cattle.
The bacteria is incredibly difficult to track and when people eat food that is tainted by Listeria, the incubation period can range between 3 to 70 days.
Be on the lookout for the following Symptoms of Listeria infection which may vary, but can include sudden onset of fever, diarrhea, chills, headache and other flu-like symptoms several weeks after exposure to Listeria bacteria.
